We Are Usually Asked About

How do I become an ISACA member?

  • To join online, first, log in to your profile or create a new profile at www.isaca.org/login. Once your profile is complete and up to date, please fill out the member application by clicking on Membership -> Join ISACA -> Become A Professional Member. Following the completion of the member application, please select a payment method and process your payment.
  • Membership is effective the same day if payment is processed by credit card. If not, membership will be activated upon ISACA headquarters receipt of payment in full. Complete payment includes ISACA international dues, relevant chapter dues (see www.isaca.org/chapdues for the current chapter dues in your area), and the new member processing fee if the application is to become a new member.
  • Should you require an invoice/receipt, submit your order, then go to “myPurchases” to print out an invoice/receipt.

Do I have to renew my membership to maintain or renew my certification?

  • No, membership is not required to maintain or renew your certification.
  • Maintaining/renewing your certification has two requirements:
    • Pay the annual maintenance fee ($45 for members or $85 for non-members)
    • Earn/report the minimum annual/3-year requirement of CPE hours.

ISACA membership and certification are separate, so you do not need one to have the other. However, if you were to allow your membership to lapse, you would no longer be eligible to renew your certification as the member rate.  You would also lose access to your other member benefits.

CDPSE | What is the CDPSE Early Adoption Program?

  • Most existing privacy certifications and training are geared toward legal professionals and those setting policies in organizations – leaving a gap where there is no training or certification for the IT professionals who build and implement the privacy programs.
  • ISACA’s new Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) certification not only focuses on privacy governance, but it also addresses technical privacy controls and how to design and embed them within an organization’s infrastructure. This certification is intended to bridge the gap between the technical and legal functions within an organization.
  • This is a limited-time opportunity where candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and can show that they have the necessary experience in the CDPSE domains and tasks, can earn a CDPSE certification without taking the exam. This EA Program is only available through 31 March 2021.
  • After this early-adoption period candidates will have to prepare, take, and pass the CDPSE certification exam which will match the rigor and requirements of ISACA’s core four certifications.
  • If you are interested in getting CDPSE certified but do not meet the requirements for the early adoption program, ISACA will be releasing exam preparation training and a certification exam in 2021. Please visit the www.isaca.org/credentialing/CDPSE page for release updates.
